Today is few tips on answering paper AS or A2 exam
we focus on Command words that always appear in the beginning of da questions.
Command Words
- most question on exam papers do not hav question marks - Question tell candidates what they must do using command words - The command words used and their meaning r listed in syllabus - It is essential that candidates understand these command words
DESCRIBE - the key step in process - the keypoints in some stimulus material
EXPLAIN - the reasons why something happens - the theory shoes why something happens
STATE - means that a short answer is required - it may be only one word - it is a waste of time for candidates to write out a full sentence for such an answer
COMPARE - mean statements about both things or concepts are needed eg Let see if candidates was asked to compare A and B Ok 1. A is green... normally no mark 2. A is greener than B.... awarded a mark 3. A is green but B is yellow... awarded a mark
SUGGEST - this invites candidates to think about what they hav read abd written as answers in da question - Look back to da question before u all writting any 'suggestions' - not necessarily one correct answer - may be several ALTERNATIVE answers...so think more n use ur general knowledges!
